A welcome message from the Holy Family Retreat Center and Fr. David Cinquegrani, Director of the HolyFamily Retreat Center.
Greetings to all of you.
As we approach the start of a new retreat season, I want to take a moment to thank you for your support and involvement and to invite you back to the Holy Family. We have missed you and are delighted to offer you new opportunities to grow in your spiritual life in the months to come. To those of you who have not yet visited us, know how welcome you are here, regardless of your background or religious orientation.
The Covid-19 pandemic has been a long and difficult time for all of us. This has particularly impacted our offerings at Holy Family as we have moved from mostly face-to-face events to virtual online experiences.
At the start of the pandemic, we recorded messages of hope that we shared with our community. We filmed our dynamic liturgies and delivered them online, and gathered for Mass outdoors when it was safe and convenient. We presented our traditional seasonal concerts by mixing individual recordings and socially distanced outdoor performances. Perhaps the most difficult thing to do has been to get our overnight retreats online, not for the technical challenges, but because the experience of coming to the Holy Family is such an important part of the practice. spiritual retreat. But while our conference room and our dining room were empty, our Zoom rooms were full.
Now, as we enter a new retirement season, I am pleased to announce our retirement theme for this year: In the Spirit of Confidence. During this retreat, we will explore our trust in others, the role of trust in our life of faith, and our trust in God.
We are delighted to welcome back all vaccinated retreatants for the return from our in-person retreats, and we will continue to take all reasonable precautions to ensure your safety. We hope you will sign up for a weekend soon by visiting www.holyfamilyretreat.org.
I also invite you to join us in celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Holy Family on Sunday September 26. A reception will take place at 3:00 p.m. behind the monastery building, followed by a mass at the exterior altar at 5:00 p.m. excellent opportunity to bring our community together, to meet new friends and to celebrate our heritage of the Holy Family.
Whenever you feel ready to return to the Holy Family, or to visit us for the first time, we will be ready to welcome you. Thank you, once again, and we hope to see you again soon.
