We Tried It – Connecting with Guardian Angels at Denver’s New Psychic Healing Center

This is part of our ongoing “We Tried It” series where we test weird and wonderful things to do or see in Colorado. Go here to see what else we’ve tried. Comment below and tell us what we should do next.

If you know your birth chart by heart – or if you’ve ever asked a man for his birth time – this is the one for you. Newly opened in Cherry Creek, the Aspen Psychic Healing Center offers a new perspective to the Denver wellness community.

The brand new company offers group classes focused on spiritual healing and communication with spirits. We decided to attend their Guardian Angels course and see if it was worth it.

The basics

Communicating with God, angels and spirits at just 5 years old, the founder of Life Purpose Shaman says she has been mentored by famous spiritual leaders such as Mother Theresa, Pope John Paul II and the Dalai Lama on her journey to become a shaman. For over 30 years, Life Purpose Shaman has dedicated his life to helping people find their true destiny and connect with their soul mates.

Its bright, crystal-filled space is believed to heal. Offering both group and individual sessions, Life Purpose Shaman offers a range of spiritual services. From communication from Guardian Angels and Spirit Guides to chakra healing and past life karmic healing, this Third Avenue store is a unique place in Cherry Creek.

The class I attended focused on connecting with our own Guardian Angels. At $ 50 per ticket, the shaman would guide us in understanding our own angels and communicate any messages they need to share with us.

The experience

Nine of us gathered in a semicircle on the floor, enjoying the bright and serene space as we sat on our pillows. We did not receive any instruction before the course other than to dress comfortably and avoid wearing metal as this hinders the movement of the shaman energy within us. It was a diverse mix of people attending the communication session with the Guardian Angels on Saturday morning. But, we all shared one thing in common: sheer curiosity.

In front of us sat the Life Purpose Shaman, greeting each of us individually before starting the class. She began by explaining the notion of guardian angels which, to my surprise, did not refer to the people in our life who looked after us. She explained that guardian angels are not actually people, but rather non-human angels individually assigned to protect and guide us.

Before starting our first group meditation, she asked for permission to be honest.. She explained that, with his permission, she won’t stop saying anything the spirits communicate to her – no matter how brutal (or embarrassing) it might be with the group. A nervous laugh arose in the group as we all hesitatedly agreed.

Our first meditation was done while standing with our right foot placed in front of us with our palms facing outward to receive. She walked around the group with a sound bath – a meditative healing tool used to dive into sound. Our eyes were closed, but we could feel the sound bath surrounding us as she connected with each of our energies.

As she finished the first meditation and we all sat back down on our pillows, we quickly learned that she had warned us. One by one, she communicated what she saw and heard from our angels about our lives. His honesty was brutal, but by the shock on everyone’s faces as they arrived in turn – apparently correct. She had visions of our childhood, recalled the relationships that had marked us in our lives. The semi-circle of strangers quickly bonded knowing the most intimate details of what we needed to fix in our lives.

I brought my best friend to the shoot and felt an excited pat on my knee as Life Purpose Shaman spoke to me. I’ll spare you all the details of my personal life, but his hits were meant to be a signal: “Oh my god, she’s right.” I did the same to my friend when it too happened, the shaman talking about things we had discussed just earlier today.

The next two meditations followed a similar process, the sound bath creating a connection between the shaman and each individual in the group. We were told to recall the colors and feelings we saw as we thought about the messages the guardian angels had given us – a representation of the blockages we have in our chakras and areas in our lives that we needed to repair.

While it was powerful to hear him speak to you directly, the most moving part of the class was observing the reactions of the other members of the group. You could hear the excitement in their voices, the feeling of being seen. They shared intimate stories related to what the shaman was communicating – fights with loved ones, an illness that had brought their lives to a standstill.

We ended the session by forming a circle, mimicking hand in hand (COVID-19 precaution) as we gathered as a group one last time. The room was lighter as we parted, filled with strangers sharing stories about their lives – again curious to know more.

The verdict

In the girl’s age of astrology and the demand for birth times, it’s easy to be skeptical of courses like these. Many of us dismiss spirituality as a “woo-woo” subject, refusing to explore it fully.

On its website, Life Purpose Shaman Beautiful states, “I have found that those who fail to receive healing are those who lack belief in the healing itself.

I don’t consider myself to be the most spiritual of people, but just watching the reactions of the group around me gave me something to believe in. the class is a unique experience which I recommend to try with an open mind.
