Thanksgiving inspiration from three New Jersey clergy | Opinion

Three members of the New Jersey spiritual community, Pastor Frazer of the Grace Point Seventh-day Adventist Church in Montclair, Rev. Bolivar Flores, Vice President of the Coalition of Latino Pastors and Ministers, and Pastor David Eghelshi of the evangelical mission of the Holy Spirit The “MEDES” Church of Plainfield offers its gratitude and looks forward to this Thanksgiving feast.

The last few years have been difficult for all of us. This is why it is important to take the time to rejoice in all of our blessings, to pray continually, and to remember to give thanks.

By Rev. Bolivar Flores

As we approach the end of another year, we reflect on all the issues and struggles we have faced. We reflect on another year of the pandemic and how we are trying to move forward.

During this time of reflection, I think of a verse from the Bible that says: “Always rejoice, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you ”(New King James version, Thessalonians. 1 .5: 16-18.)

We must follow the three commands discussed as they are the basis of how we should live our lives. I know the last few years have been difficult for all of us. This is why it is important to take the time to rejoice in all of our blessings, to pray continually, and to remember to give thanks.

Thanksgiving is not only about the feast, but also about showing gratitude, especially to our Lord.

May the peace and love of our Lord surround you.
