Summary of Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this advertisement, 05/02/2022. Time-in-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are currently federal employees and have held a GS rank at any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet the Time-in-Grade requirements by the closing date of this advertisement. For a GS-5 position, you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-4. The rank may have been in any profession, but must have been held in federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-spent eligibility must be submitted with your application. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date in the past year, it may not clearly show you have one year of seniority, as the ad requires. In this case, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one year of class attendance. Note: Time-in-rank requirements also apply to former federal employees seeking reinstatement as well as current employees seeking appointments under the Veterans Employment Opportunity Act of 1998 (VEOA) . You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialist Experience: You must have one year of specialist experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-4 in the normal line of progression of the profession in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would generally include, but not be limited to: Must have a working knowledge of medical terminology. Knowledge of medical center records systems and reporting requirements. Proficiency in the use of a personal computer, fax machine, photocopier, advanced telephone system and calculator. .OR, Education: Applicants may substitute education for required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level, you must be 4 years above high school. OR, Combination: Candidates can also combine education and experience to qualify for this level. You must have a combination of specialized experience and education beyond high school Requirement: Type 40 words per minute – This position contains a screening question which is considered part of the basic qualifications for the position, applicants who do not meet the selection criteria will not receive any further consideration for this position.
