A leader from Tijjaniya and renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi on Wednesday called on Nigerians to pray for peace and unity in the country.
He encouraged Muslims in particular to pray for the peace, unity and development of the nation and to always love their neighbors as stated in the Quran.
He made the appeal during the opening of the annual Maulud celebration of Nigeria’s Tijjaniya movement in Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa state.
The sheikh, who was represented by Khalifa Mohammed Buhari, president of the Sheik Dahiru Usman Bauchi Foundation, chapter of the state of Nasarawa, reminded Muslims of the qualities of the Prophet Muhammad, whom he described as simple, generous, worthy of trustworthy and honest, hence the need for Muslims to imitate him for a better society.
He said the Prophet Muhammad had lived an exemplary life with non-Muslims in a peaceful manner and had shown them love and tolerance as well as justice.
In his welcoming speech, Emir de Lafia, Judge Sidi Mohammed Bage Rtd, who was represented by Madakin Lafia, Isiaka Dauda, ââcalled on Muslim scholars to continue praying for lasting peace and social development. economy of the country.
He called on Nigerians to always see each other as brothers and sisters and to avoid any form of religious, tribal or ethnic bitterness.
In addition, in his presentation, an academic from the Federal University of Lafia, Dr. Yusuf Salihu Mada’u, urged Muslims to be the guardians of their neighbors, regardless of tribe and religious inclination.
