Amit Shah Pays Tribute to Golden Temple and Presents BJP’s 11 Pillars Vision in Amritsar


New Delhi: Union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah on Sunday visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar where he also met with Jathedar of Akal Takht Harpre and Singh Giani.

The visit comes as the former BJP chairman was in Punjab campaigning for the NDA alliance ahead of the upcoming state assembly elections.

Taking to Twitter, Union Home Minister Shah said. “I received blessings from Waheguru ji while paying homage to the famous Shri Harminder Sahib in Amritsar. Every particle here contains the sacrifices of Sikh Gurus to protect the nation and the religion, which inspires the whole country to serve the nation. “

Earlier in the day, addressing a public rally in Amritsar, Union Home Minister Amit Shah revealed the Bharatiya Janata Party’s vision of a “new Punjab”, which includes a state drug-free and mafia-free, ANI reported.

In Amritsar, Shah said the BJP and the NDA administration have decided to build a new Punjab on 11 pillars, the first of which is “peace and brotherhood”. He then listed other pillars as “Mafia free Punjab. Drug free Punjab. Employment for all. Prosperous farmer. Free from disease, healthy Punjab. Right to education for all. Promoting industrialization. Respected woman Growth for All (Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas).

He strongly criticized the outgoing government of Punjab for the breach of security during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Ferozepur: “Prime Minister Modi had come with tremendous zeal to visit the people of Punjab, but the government of Punjab Punjab could not even do anything to secure its route. Those who could not maintain Prime Minister Modi’s road safety could not keep Punjab safe.”

“Prime Minister Modi wants to secure Punjab. He wants to do good for farmers in Punjab. He wants to make Punjab drug-free. We need a government in Punjab that will walk side by side with Prime Minister Modi,” he added.

The Union Home Minister also visited Valmiki Temple and Durgiana Temple in Amritsar on Sunday. After offering prayers at Valmiki Temple, Union Home Minister Shah said he hoped no religious conversions would occur in Punjab under the administration of the National Democratic Alliance ( nes).

“I offered prayers at Valmiki Temple and prayed that religious conversion will not take place here under the NDA led government,” Shah said as quoted by ANI.

Shah criticizes Kejriwal for not having Sikh representation in his twice-formed government

Targeting national Aam Aadmi party leader Arvind Kejriwal, the top BJP leader questioned why Delhi’s chief minister has no Sikh representation in his government.

“Kejriwal ji, you should answer the people of Punjab why did you not appoint a single Sikh minister even after your government was formed twice with an absolute majority in Delhi,” he said.

“Whenever the BJP government is formed in the Center, the Sikh community is definitely represented there,” he added.

He has already spoken at large rallies in Ludhiana and Patiala.

Meanwhile, BJP MP Hema Malini, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, AAP organizer Arvind Kejriwal were among the prominent leaders campaigning across the state today.

Punjab will see a single-stage election on February 20 with counting on March 10.

In the 2017 Punjab Assembly election, the Congress won an outright majority with 77 seats, toppling the SAD-BJP administration that had been in office for ten years.
